Materials and construction: Slow-grown Nordic spruce log construction with toughened double glazing, reinforced framing and 19 mm tongue-and-groove boards.

Treat all untreated external timber immediately after assembly with a suitable preservative, followed by a weather-resistant exterior finish. Coat cut ends, joints, doors and window frames carefully. Keep gutters and roof surfaces clear, maintain ventilation beneath the floor and avoid prolonged contact with standing water. Inspect the structure twice a year for movement, loose fixings, seal deterioration or damaged finishes. Clean with a soft brush and mild detergent, then refresh the protective coating whenever water no longer beads on the surface.
